9-Day Training Program for Uyghur Youth Concludes Successfully in Istanbul
The 9-day training program titled “International Conjuncture and National Struggle Methods” concluded successfully in Selimpaşa, Istanbul on August 31, 2024. The program was jointly organized by the Uyghur Academy Foundation and the Uyghur İlim and Marifet Foundation with the objective of cultivating conscious, well-equipped, and socially responsible leadership among Uyghur youth.
Launched on August 23, the program brought together 20 Uyghur participants, comprising university students and recent graduates. Over the course of nine days, participants engaged in a diverse curriculum covering topics such as current international developments, the East Turkistan issue, cultural identity, and social solidarity.
A total of 16 Uyghur researchers and experts contributed to the program, traveling from Istanbul and other cities to share their expertise. In addition to lectures, participants took part in Q&A sessions, group discussions, and interactive workshops, which provided opportunities for deeper engagement and critical dialogue.
Beyond academic enrichment, the program also emphasized social and cultural exchange. Recreational activities and shared experiences fostered strong bonds among participants, while an American English language instructor offered courses at various levels to support the development of participants’ language skills.
One of the program’s most significant outcomes was the strengthening of participants’ understanding of their cultural identity and the reinforcement of their motivation to act with a heightened sense of social responsibility. Several participants described the program as a milestone in both their personal growth and collective awareness.
The organizers extend their sincere appreciation to Mr. Habibullah Küsani, President of the Uyghur İlim and Marifet Foundation, and his team for their dedicated efforts and hospitality in ensuring the successful implementation of the program.
